Documentary Transactions

Gazprombank handles all transactions involving guarantees, letters of credit (LCs) and collections, including sophisticated and complex structured transactions, in particular by using LCs and collections as trade finance instruments, and offers the products and services detailed below.

• issues a wide range of guarantees, such as:
  • Performance guarantees; 
  • Payment guarantees; 
  • Advance repayment guarantees; 
  • Customs guarantees; 
  • Tax guarantees; 
  • Bid bonds (tender guarantees); 
  • Loan guarantees; 
  • Share payment guarantees;
  • Guarantees issued as security in legal actions/claims; 
  • Other types of guarantee obligations.
• guarantees against counter-guarantees of the correspondent banks under the documentary credit lines (limits) granted to these banks; 
• advises guarantees issued by Russian and foreign banks in favor of Russian and foreign beneficiaries; 
• claims payments from guarantor banks at the beneficiary’s request;
• certifies the authenticity of signatures on guarantees issued by other banks at the customer’s request; 
• provides other services, including preliminary structuring of a guarantee transaction. 

• advises letters of credit and amendments thereto issued by Russian and foreign correspondent banks in favor of Russian and foreign beneficiaries;
• confirms letters of credit issued by the correspondent banks against a cash collateral submitted or under documentary credit lines (limits) granted to the issuing banks; 
• handles letters of credit; 
• reimburses claims in accordance with the reimbursement authorization received from the issuing bank (provided the latter holds a correspondent account with Gazprombank);
• issues irrevocable reimbursement undertakings under letters of credit issued by the correspondent banks under the documentary credit lines (limits) granted to the issuing banks (provided the issuing banks hold correspondent accounts with Gazprombank); 
• transfers letters of credit and assigns the proceeds under letters of credit;
• provides other services, including structuring of documentary transactions and the terms of an LC transaction.
