St. Petersburg, June 3, 2021 — On the margins of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, a trilateral cooperation agreement was signed between Gazprombank, the Government of Kaliningrad Region and the Basketball Federation of Kaliningrad Region. The agreement was signed by Alexey Belous, Deputy Chairman of Gazprombank’s Management Board, Anton Alikhanov, Governor of Kaliningrad Region and Andrey Romanov, President of the Basketball Federation of Kaliningrad Region.
The agreement envisions the involvement of Gazprombank experts in an examination of opportunities for the implementation of investment projects in the field of sports using the mechanisms of public-private partnership in the territory of Kaliningrad Region and the arrangement of financing for these projects, including the creation and use of a socially-important project — the construction of a basketball center in Kaliningrad.
“The implementation of socially-significant projects in the Russian regions within the framework of PPP — particularly in the field of sports — represents an important business area and key calling card for Gazprombank. I’m confident that our expertise and vast experience in this area will enable the creation and efficient use of modern sports infrastructure in Kaliningrad Region,” commented Alexey Belous, Deputy Chairman of Gazprombank’s Management Board.
