Alexey Demkin, CFA, has been working on financial markets since 1996. His experience includes positions at investment companies, "Securities Market" magazine, NAUFOR and Expert RA rating agency. After working for seven years at IB TRUST/NB TRUST in positions ranging from leading specialist to head of the department for the study of the debt markets of TRUST, in early 2009 Alexey moved to Sberbank Capital as Head of the Research Department where he was responsible for restructuring of bad debts of the parent bank, including debt equity swap transactions. In April 2010, Alexey was appointed Head of Gazprombank's debt markets team, where, in the Market Research Department, he is responsible for preparation of analytical materials on debt markets as part of development of the bank’s client business. Alexey holds the position of Acting Head of the Research Department and Head of the Fixed Income Research Division.
In 1997 he graduated from the Physics Department of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, in 1998 from the Higher School of Economics (NRU-HSE), earning a Master's Degree, with a major in Financial Management and the Stock Market. TRUST’s research team, headed by Alexey, has repeatedly been recognized as the strongest in the analysis of the Russian bond market, according to surveys by Cbonds customers. Alexey was rated second among analysts on the analysis of corporate debt according to the rating of Institutional Investor All-Russia Research Team-2008 and was ranked third in this category by All-Russia Research Team-2007.
In 2002, Andrey earned a degree in Credit and Finance at the Plekhanov Russian Academy of Economics, and in 2005 he defended his thesis at the Finance Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation on the topic of forecasting stock market prices.
